Brown Dog Foundation
- What it helps with
- Families in a temporary financial crisis whose pet needs life-saving treatment or life-sustaining medication.
- Amounts
- Not stated on pages I read. You are required to pay something at time of service (request form).
- Who qualifies (as stated)
- Pet owners who have had a financial setback such as job loss or major medical bills. You must already have a regular veterinary clinic. Typically one-time.
- What it will not cover or rules that can rule you out
- Incomplete requests are automatically denied. Does not approve by phone.
- How to apply
- Online Request for Assistance form only (starts at the 'Ask for help' pre-qualification form). The foundation also describes a Grant Repayment Program through VetBilling for families with higher incomes who struggle to get financing.
- Note
- An older direct 'apply' link returned a 404 on the date checked; use the home page. Details such as percentage-of-cost requirements appear only in a 2023 third-party PDF and are not repeated here.
Re-check status: Eligibility text last read 2026-10-17; on 2026-10-19 we only confirmed the request-form page still loads. Magic Bullet Fund's own list notes Brown Dog will not work with BluePearl clinics; confirm on Brown Dog's page before applying.
