Vet Bill Help Finder

Help paying a vet bill: see what each fund will and won't cover

Most lists of pet assistance programs are long link piles. This page shows, for each program we checked, what it helps with, the amounts it states, who qualifies, and what rules you out, with the source and the date we last checked. Start with the filter, then read the exclusions before you spend time on an application. National scope: funds below accept applications from across the US unless a card says otherwise, and state pages cover 38 states so far.

Narrow the list (nothing you choose is saved or sent)

Funds refuse different things. Pick what fits your situation and the cards below will filter. Always read each fund's exclusions.

Tip from the funds themselves: contact them before treatment is paid for. Several will not reimburse care you already paid for.

Assistance programs

RedRover Relief: Urgent Care grants

National (US)

What it helps with
Life-threatening injury or illness where a small gap in funding is keeping the animal from care.
Amounts
Average grant about $250; typical $250-300. Cannot help if the funds needed to begin or continue treatment are $500 or more.
Who qualifies (as stated)
Household income at or under $60,000 per year; applicant and animal both live in the US; one animal; treatment must have a good or favorable outcome.
What it will not cover or rules that can rule you out
Ongoing conditions (for example chemotherapy, special diets, Cushing's); testing or diagnostics (X-rays, MRI, blood work); routine care; follow-up visits; animals that already received most or all of their treatment; households that already received an Urgent Care grant.
How to apply
Pre-application questions first; the full application link appears only if eligible. Application window runs Monday 9 a.m. to Friday 4 p.m. Pacific Time each week. Replies take 1-2 business days.
Note
May ask you to get estimates from lower-cost clinics; staying at an ER vet for care a general practice can safely provide may reduce eligibility.
